Wheel Balance.
It’s a well-balanced wheel with a well-tuned wheel-tire combo. This is accomplished by placing measured lead weights on the opposite side of the “heavy spot”—the visible tread wear of your unstable tire—on the opposite side of the “heavy spot.”
If your vehicle vibrates at a specific speed, one of the wheels may be out of balance. Because it has been exposed to greater road friction and heat, one part of your tire may be heavier or looser than the others. Come in for timely, competent service—the majority of customers are blown away by the difference that such a simple and inexpensive operation can make. Look for one of these signs and come see us if you discover one:
- Tires with a scalloped, irregular wear pattern.
- At certain speeds, vibrations in the steering wheel, seat, or floorboard.
